We met at the altar of a glimmering screen;

tubes to diodes to pixels.

Behold: a simple saga

that became a mutual dialect,

a binding thing of joy and escape,

parenthood’s long lesson,

and friendships flourishing

amid strange circumstances;

vibrant encounters of the gazebo kind

speaking for the part of us

that needed voice.

Miracles of community and courage,

ageless mistakes;

whimsies witnessed

transformed into something touchable.

So we set sail again;

not for the show.

The show is for civilians.

We’re here for the faces in fall color—

warm gold steadiness,

soft green belonging—

to praise in person

the sacred time spent before—

as Dragonflies, scattered across horizons,

together, elsewhere—

inside the same story

that still knows how

to lift us like a favorite song.

A pleasurable sort of business.
